Admissions Advice

Chancing dropped.. I know why but !!

So I heard about how the metrics for admissions chancing has been redone, but my chancing percentages dropped SO MUCH like from over 80% to the “normal” acceptance rate like 30%. Is this happening to anyone else, and if not, what is on your profile that keeps your chancing high? Feeling a little discouraged lol this is tough!

Lol, right now, the college I committed to this cycle has a 1% acceptance rate for me. May be a temporary thing or might just be reflecting the updated info from this yr (bc admit rates were absolutely brutal this yr). In any case, it is still possible to get into the schools you want! Don't give up hope :)

Thank you! And no problem. Just hoping to spread a little positivity bc ik the reality of admissions can feel overwhelming at times

hey there's a good post similar to yours: https://www.collegevine.com/questions/29968/chancing-dropped

apparently this is happening to a bunch of people, so it's either accurate or needs some readjustment still hopefully!

i had some of mine dip really far, but a lot of them were similar or only dipped a little bit (the schools on my list aren't like top schools though and i have a high weighted gpa)

As other answers have mentioned, a new version of the Chancing Engine is being released this month. Here is the link to the official announcement. Hope this helps!
