What are some good online volunteering options?

Hello all,

I am a rising high school sophomore and was wondering if there are any good online volunteering opportunities available. I have an internship lined up for this summer, but I'd also like to obtain a position at an organization where I can receive community service hours. If anyone has any ideas or organizations in mind, please let me know! Thanks.

Hello! I’ve recently been using volunteer match.org and have found quite a good amount of volunteer opportunities there, especially for my local library. Hope you find some opportunities!

Hello @highschoolstudentc. First of all, I'm unsure what grade you are in, but typically internships are available since 11th grade at your local universities. You should check with your school adviser and their website for the information. You could also always search on Indeed (indeed.com). The Volunteer/Internships and you should participate accordingly based on your field of interest.

For Virtual Volunteers/Internship, I have some good ones. (1) ENGin is a great Ukrainian youth English tutor program that is open for 14+ (https://www.enginprogram.org). (2) TutorStand (https://tutorstand.com) is for math tutors if you have taken pre-calculus then you qualify. (3) ThePeople which advocates for non-partisan cooperation and unifying the nation that providing both Volunteer/internship opportunities (https://thepeople.org).

For more Volunteer opportunities both in your area and virtual, you could search on VolunteerMatch which I use (https://www.volunteermatch.org).

You could read this CollegeVine blog (https://blog.collegevine.com/how-to-apply-for-a-volunteer-position-in-high-school/) for more information on finding good Volunteers positions.

I hope the information helps and good luck.

UPchieve.org lets you tutor low income students and you receive volunteer hours for it! I’ve been doing this for a couple of Months and have about 10 hours already.

You can even volunteer on your own time. There isn’t a fixed schedule.

hello! volunteering online is a little difficult - but here are some ideas! https://www.catchafire.org/volunteer-discover/ has some simple ways you can volunteer, and you don't need to be 18. If you speak another language fluently, here's another website to try; https://translatorswithoutborders.org/volunteer/

good luck! i wish you the best :)
