Dartmouth

Props to Dartmouth, they just eliminated all loans for undergraduates and replaced them with grants.

Dartmouth already has an impressive track record in financial aid. It is one of the few schools that give full rides to those from families whose income is less than $65,000. It also is one of 6 colleges that is fully need blind and meets 100% of need including international students. Now for middle class families whose income is >$65K and perhaps up to $250K, this new programs eliminates all bridge loan requirements.

This means that Dartmouth is even more competitive than ever for attracting and recruiting a more diverse class of students by giving working middle class families a compelling reason to still send their kids there because there will be no loans but only non-repayable grants in place of them.

Dartmouth donors demonstrate their beliefs through personal action and donations. These Dartmouth donors are charitable people who deserve to be respected for their devotion and honesty. Unfortunately, actual selfless people are becoming increasingly rare these days.

You may have different opinions on the cancellation of student debt. In today's information age, diversity of thought is unavoidable. We should not suppress it, because only through civil discourse and rational debates can we offer solutions to complex problems. At the end of the day, the most important thing is to have critical thinking rather than inherited or emotional thinking. We should definitely evaluate the reliability of claims before jumping to conclusions. We can contribute to reversing today's polarization by making evidence-based arguments and being willing to listen to others.
