Is select application status actually beneficial?
Answered

I am a high school senior who is getting ready to apply for college. I have been getting a lot of mail and emails from colleges and universities. For some of the colleges, I have a select application status which has perks that a normal application doesn't have. I guess I would like to know if anyone has actually benefited from applying with the select application status rather than the normal application.

The usual perks of such a status are: no application fee, priority consideration for scholarships, no supplemental essays, and an early admissions decision(almost always acceptance). It is much better than a normal application.

Almost all of the universities providing you with such a status will be safeties and most probably out-of-state. However, you wouldn't really see any top 50 universities offering such perks.
