I’m applying to UT Austin
1100SAT 4.0 GPA 17/76 class rank. Should I submit score?
Hi @damond,
Thank for your question. UT-Austin is a very competitive college. If you look at the UT-Austin Common Data Set for 2021-22, the middle 50% percentile range for SAT scores is 1230-1480. This means that of the admitted class, 1/2 of the class had SAT scores in this range and 75% of the class had scores between 1230-1600.
1100 falls well below where most students get admitted, probably 85% or more have higher SAT scores. Therefore, with that score, you have very little chance of getting into UT-Austin.
If you really have your eyes and heart set on UT-Austin, I would continue to get as many As in your classes as possible, take the most challenging coursework, and spend some time test prepping for the SAT. Your goal should be 1300 for SAT and if you work hard on Khan Academy and test prep using other books and resources, you should be able to get there in a few months if you focus.
Good luck.
