Admissions Advice

currently have a 41 in ap chem 😭
Answered

i’ve had STRAIGHT AS all through highschool, and have taken 2 APs so far (im a senior), and i’m taking 3 APs this year and 1 dual enrollment with another honors class. I have ALL AS in these classes EXCEPT AP chem in which my grade is now an F (bombed the first test lol)

if i can get my grade up to a C in a few weeks) i’m applying to colleges in October), will this drastically affect my chances? i’m literally so upset rn. i’m trying to apply to like emory, uf and whatnot too

So long as you only have that one C on your transcript and continue to perform well in all of your other classes, you will do just fine in the admissions process. One C on a perfect record is a sign that the class was too difficult - it is only when you have two or more C's on your transcript that you will really be affected negatively. Hope this helps!

Since AP chem is tough I think if you have one C it’s okay my teacher used to let us do retakes occasionally and curve some of the tests so I would ask for a retake maybe.

Try and ask your teacher if you could do test correction or have another shot with a retake. Does your teacher do ap curves on test? I like you also took my first test today so i know how its feels. I would say a B will not hurt your chances if any. But as for a C, not so sure but I would say it has somewhat of a impact.
