AP classes

Hello! I have a question about AP classes. There are no AP classes in our school, students can’t take them. I am going to apply as an international student. How important AP classes are?

There not really important there good to show that you can take hard courses and do good. They look at it based on how mnay you school has to offer.

Because it sounds like you are applying as an international student, will you be taking the IB course? If you take the IB course AP classes become significantly less important.

AP classes add to your application. You will be compared against other international students. You can self-study for the AP courses that interest you and take the exam.

For schools that offer APs, they are essential. Luckily, schools keep in mind how many the school offers. A kid who take 4 APs in a school that offers 25 won't be considered the same as someone who took 4 in a school that offers 10. Since your school offers no AP classes, it won't be held against you and should have no effect.

Good luck and hope I helped.

Hi! AP classes are important for applications (although they aren't the MOST important) only if your school offers them. Since your school doesn't, colleges won't hold it against you at all. Good luck!
