I'm taking a College Board-certified AP course right now online, but I was wondering what the significance of that mark is. I want to take some more AP courses online, but I can't figure out if the specific ones I want to take are accredited. If they weren't, would taking these classes still help with my transcript?
Of course taking an AP Class will look great on your transcript as it will help boost your weighted GPA and show that you're academically motivated student and that you can handle the rigor of college, but never overload yourself with too much work in consequence of your physical and mental health. Many universities accept AP credit but they have different standards on what they will accept. For example some colleges may accept AP credits while others may not. It all depends on the school that you are applying to. Usually schools will only accept AP credit if you got a 4 or above on the AP exam but yet again, it all depends on the school. If you want to find out what credits will transfer for any school, you will have to do your own research for the specific university. All universities have different requirements and different standards so my best advice for you is AP credits look great on a transcript no matter what it's for but whether they transfer or not depends greatly upon the college. Look at the universities common data set and their freshman profiles to get a sense of different statistics on the university. If that doesn't help, your school councilor may be able to. If talking to a school councilor doesn't help, you can always reach out to your university of interest.
Hello, will you please provide info about which institute where you are taking your online AP courses from? I know certified courses will be recognized by Unis. But would you provide the name of the institute? Cuz it would be better for answering this question and I am also looking for some online AP institute as well.
