I understand that when schools offer an optional essay to be submitted, it isn't actually optional. However, I have seen a few colleges ask for an optional essay done within 12 months of school, but I have not done any essays throughout my junior year, and if I have, it was a draft for practice collected by a teacher so I no longer have access to the draft.
Is there anything I could do? If not, it's understandable.
Hi @roxo,
Are you talking about the Optional Graded Paper or Essay like what Princeton is asking for? Can you reply with a link to the college website where you are getting this information so I can look at it and give you an informed answer? Thanks

Hello @Liltrooper, I don't have a link specifically because this is from the common app. However, here is a copy-paste of an example for Williams College from the common app: Some students feel they do their best writing in an academic context rather than through narrative pieces like admission applications. If you are interested in submitting an example of your academic writing from the last year, you may share a 3-5 page paper here.
