How important are Physics and Chemistry?

I am a freshman studying in a STEM high school. I will be specializing in the field of IT with computer science as the bulk of my subjects (6 year-long courses in 3 years). With this level of rigor and focus on IT, is it a must to take Physics and Chemistry in my Sophomore and Junior years or can I take Environmental Science, and Forensic Science? Are there any long-term impacts?

Hi @virenrajrana!

Most colleges require/recommend a certain number of high school credits in science (with lab). Physics, Chemistry, and Biology meet this requirement. Additionally, high schools often require science credits to graduate. Check with your high school counselor whether forensic science will work.

Hope this helps!
