I want to major in business and politics but my grades suffered 10th grade? Do I still stand a chance at Miami's Herbert

Alg 2 Honors (C)

I am mainly an A/B student with solid ECs and an international applicant living in the US?

NJ resident- do I still have a comfortable shot with UMiami RD? SAT is 1490 SuperScore and 1480 normal

Hi @niya2006!

One C in your entire transcript won't be very detrimental. Your SAT score is higher than the 75th percentile for UMiami (1450) and you have solid ECs, which boosts your chances. If your GPA is at least 3.5, you have a good chance of getting in.

I would also say that your one C will not prevent you from getting accepted. The rest of your grades are good, especially if they are in AP/IB classes. Your SAT score will compensate for your C as well.

And of course, the college admissions process is holistic. Your ECs, essays, teacher recommendations, and hook will all tip the scales in your favor.
