Hi,
I am an international student and I planned to attend Amherst College. I am a student of IBDP, which has English as the primary language of instruction. Also, I got 1550 on SAT- 750 in R&W and 800 in Math. So, most of the schools I applied to waived TOEFL/IELTS requirement, and I didn't think that they would be necessary. So, I didn't take them. However, Amherst College says this:
"Amherst requires any international first-year applicant whose first language is not English to take and submit official score reports from either TOEFL or IELTS testing. A waiver of that requirement is available only for those first-year applicants who have completed their entire four years of secondary education at a school using English as the primary language of instruction."
In the first two years of my high school education, we had 6 hours of English classes per week. In the last two years of my high school education, the primary language of instruction was English. Does this mean that I can waive this requirement? What should I do if it doesn't count? Should I withdraw my application?
Thanks in advance!
You can't waive the requirement yourself silly. You have to ask them to waive the requirement. Since you only have 3 days, don't think you have a choice but to ask for a waiver for the TOEFL/IELTS requirement but you might not get it in time to meet the Jan. 3 application deadline. If you do not ask for the waiver, and it's a requirement, then most likely your application will not be processed and put in the incomplete pile. So I would email them immediately. Of course, you can withdraw but that is entirely up to you.

Thanks a lot! I'll email them immediately and hope that they'll respond positively.
