I want to do the optional supplement for Williams requiring me to submit a 3-5 page essay of an assignment I got during the year. The problem my school gave no such assignments in my previous school year and the years before that. Most were just a one-page essay. I do not know what to do because I was told optional essays are not really optional

This supplement is much more optional than the prompts that ask you to write an original essay. Though it would only help you to submit a paper, it will not harm you in any significant way if you do not do so. Hope this helps!
