Hello, everyone. I recently was contacted by an admission officer privately from a top 50 university. They asked me to provide some more information regarding my academics and some other aspects of my application. Is this a good sign?
What should I do to increase my chance if it is really a good sign? Should I contact them more often and actively or just hand out the materials they need and wait?
Yes, this is a great sign! What you are describing is called the direct admissions process, and the premise is that colleges can streamline the admissions process by connecting with top applicants and inviting them to apply. Having an admissions officer reach out to you means that they think that you are likely a qualified applicant.
You should definitely be active in your communications and demonstrate interest to increase your chances. Ask the admissions officer thoughtful questions and complete application tasks ahead of schedule.
Hope this helps!

There might be a little misunderstanding, actually, I did apply to this university. They were reaching out AFTER I already submitted the application. So there are some differences between this and receiving emails when I have not applied. But is it still considered good if they contacted me after I applied?
