What are the best extracurriculars that can be done independently for college admissions?

Based on all the advice that I have received so far and all the material I have read, many top schools and colleges in general love it when you take action on a "passion" that you have - like "passion projects." I know it is super intimidating to have the word "passion" laid on you, but maybe if something small strikes your interest or if you see a problem in your daily life, products that you use, school, or community that you want to fix or reform, then go for it! Generally, these are probably the best of the best extracurriculars to do, but of course, there are other ones not as full of responsibility that can look exceptional.
