Hi @tenzfp!

Not necessarily. If you join a club in 12th grade, admissions officers will know that you're doing it just for the sake of college admissions. What you can do to increase your chances while in 12th grade is to get good grades and write excellent application essays.

@tenzfp the fact that you're only applying to Harvard because your mom wants you to get in isn't a really good reason. A very important factor for college admissions is their reason and purpose of why they want to study a certain subject and why in that particular school. And to answer your question, I always say, quality over quantity. Participating in lots of clubs looks less impressive than accomplishing something great in one club.

Yes, it can increase your chances in most situations with more if you have more experience.
