I applied to Harvard and Princeton but it's been over a month and i have absolutely no information from them about an interview. Some people in my country have already gotten interviews and some even have likely letters. I don't understand what I'm doing wrong but i have accepted my fate that I'll be rejected. It really hurts but ig it is wt is . I really hope to get into a small university please
Hi @Rummanjan!
From Harvard's website:
Applicants are assigned interviews at the discretion of the Admissions Committee, based, in part, on availability of alumni in your local area. Nearly 10,000 alumni/ae volunteers help us recruit students from all 50 states and around the world, but most areas do not have the capacity to interview all applicants. Your application is considered complete without an interview and will receive a full and thorough evaluation. In most cases, the Admissions Committee has sufficient information in the student’s application materials to reach an admissions decision. If the Committee would like more information about a student or has questions about any application materials, someone may reach out to schedule an interview.
From Princeton's website:
Our dedicated alumni do manage to contact the vast majority of our applicants every year; however, if you do not receive an interview for any reason, it will not put you at a disadvantage since the interview is optional.
Not getting an interview doesn't mean there's something wrong with your application. Few people get likely letters. If you're not one of them, nothing to worry about.
Hope this helps!
Don't stress too much, the have to get back to you to let you know if you have been accepted or not. It can take up to four months before a college replies.
