Last year's class had an average unweighted GPA of 3.8.

The highest UWGPA you can achieve by the time you apply to college is a 3.614 if you get straight As for the next 4 consecutive semesters. It might not be enough for UMiami but many schools will see the upward trend as a positive and perhaps give you the benefit of the doubt.

Also, keep in mind it depends on where you currently go to school, your personal demographics, and many other factors. So keep positive and also consider many other great southern schools like UGA, UofFlorida, Wake Forest, and William and Mary. Good luck.

You can get into UofM with a 3.1. Their common data set has students within 3.1-3.6. However their applications overall tend to be pretty good with extracurricular, sports, jobs, etc. You can also “patch” your GPA with a great SAT/ACT score.

It is possible to bring the 3.1 to a 3.6 by the time you graduate. You need to be taking weighted classes that can increase your weighted GPA and submit that.

Best of luck and I know you got this!
