Difference between double majoring and Interdisciplinary major

Is there a difference between double majoring and an interdisciplinary major?

This is something that I've been wondering for a while, because I've been trying to decide on whether if I should double major in two subjects, get a major and a minor in two subjects or if I should go for an interdisciplinary major.

Along with this, what can I stand to benefit from any of these options?

Double majoring involves pursuing two distinct majors in different fields. In contrast, an interdisciplinary major integrates two or more areas of study into a single program that emphasizes the fusion of different disciplines. Deciding between these options depends on your individual objectives and interests. The first can be advantageous if you aim to develop expertise in two different areas, making you more competitive in the job market. On the other hand, an interdisciplinary major can offer a unique and comprehensive education that can set you apart from other candidates in the eyes of potential employers.
