Hello, I’m a currently a sophomore in high school, and my AP government and Chemistry exams were on the same day, May 1st, but AP gov was in the morning and AP Chem was in the afternoon. I took AP Gov, but after, I wasn’t feeling well so I missed my AP Chemistry exam. My school’s AP coordinator told me that I’m able to take it next year, but I’ll be taking five other APs and I won’t even be taking AP Chemistry in my junior year. Is it worth it taking it next year?
Also, just a quick side note: I plan on majoring in political science.
You should be able to retake the exam at a later date this year, with whoever coordinates AP at your school ordering the makeup exam for you. That's what people who have two exams at the same time usually do. I'm not sure why your counselor didn't give you that option, but you should ask about it. Maybe the deadline for ordering makeup exams has passed. If it doesn't work out, I would just take the loss, it just means you'll probably have to take a gen ed science course once you're a freshman in college. That credit isn't worth overloading yourself next year.
