Are APs that important?
Answered

Hi. I’m an international student and I’m planning on applying to college in the US. But sadly, my school doesn’t offer any APs or IB courses. Would that affect my application? Also I would apply test optional.

Thanks :)

Colleges will take the course offerings, or lack of, at your school into account. As long as you challenge yourself with the highest level classes your school does offer, colleges will see that you did the best with what you had. Additionally, you could try to take online courses or courses at a local college. I would advise taking the SAT or ACT though, as a good score will definitely improve your chances, and if you score badly there's no need to show it to colleges.
