Hi, does anyone know wether I should take any standardized tests such as SAT or ACT for my UC admissions

I am an international student, I know that the policy for these exams has changed in recent years, but I would like to know if these exams add any significant value to my application?

Hey, Dav. If you're referring to colleges where standardized testing is now optional, applying test-optional (not submitting SAT or ACT scores) will NOT hurt your application. Of course, if you do well on either or both tests, including your score will be beneficial and act as a "plus" rather than a "pass." Don't feel required to take the tests solely to increase your chances, since many colleges are not basing their decisions on them.

One more question, please. University of California is test-blind including all of its best campuses. I'd like to know if completing the IBDP+extracurricular activities is enough or there are other things that can reinforce my application such as taking AP exams that are not considered standardized tests.

I'm not familiar with the IB program, but from what I know, its completion really shows off not only your academic skill, but your perseverance. AP exams are also really helpful, especially if they're classes you genuinely take an interest in. I do believe that through your application, colleges are looking to see a reflection of your character. I'd recommend only taking classes you know you'll enjoy!
