Admissions Advice

I am currently a freshman in high school and I was wondering what I need to get into schools such as UCLA, USC, & UCSD!

As of right now my GPA is 3.9 (unweighted). I am taking 2 honors classes (plan to take ap's in the following 3 years and a couple honors). I am also on JV basketball. What can I do to ensure that I could have a chance of making these schools:

- UCLA

- UC San Diego

- UC Irvine

Maybe also one of the more prestigious schools? My parents went to NYU so it would be great if I could increase my chances of getting into it.

- NYU

- USC

- UC Berkely

- Cornell

What extracurriculars would stand out to colleges? Any advice? What test scores would make me a competitive applicant? GPA?

There are many things you can do; the first thing you want to do is possibly do community service with your local library. Usually if you go on to their website, there is a section dedicated to that!
