Am I at risk of getting rescinded?

hi! i’m a senior and i plan to attend ball state university in the fall. however, this year, i’ve struggled with some of my classes. i tried taking more rigorous classes this year but i bit off more than i can chew. usually, my GPA hovers around a 3.2-3.4 per semester. my overall GPA is a 2.99 (my covid year wasn’t the greatest but i’ll get into that later). last term it was a 2.5. i managed a 3.0 in quarter 1, but quarter 2 i really struggled and earned a 2.4 for the quarter which brought my semester GPA down to a 2.5 and my total GPA down to a 2.90. i’ll list my grades below:

Term 1:

Advanced Composition (Dual Credit): B

Earth and Space Science (Dual Credit): B+

AP Microeconomics (Dual Credit): C+

Precalculus Algebra (Dual Credit): F

Personal Finance (Dual Credit): A

AP Psychology (Dual Credit): C-

My current schedule:

US Government Honors (Dual Credit)

Earth and Space Science (Dual Credit)

World Literature I (Dual Credit)

Business Law and Ethics (Dual Credit)

Precalculus Trigonometry (Dual Credit)

Math SRT (for extra help)

AP Psychology (Dual Credit)

Advanced Weight Lifting 2

I plan on dropping AP Psychology to take a math tutor lab. It’s a miracle I passed the first semester and I started off this quarter off really rough.

What are my chances of getting rescinded by ball state? Every year (except my freshman year because i refused to cheat while learning online and from home) has been good. my sophomore average yearly GPA was a 3.2 and my junior average yearly GPA was a 3.3. i took dual credit classes last year and have credits from ivy tech community college and several credits from vincennes university for criminal justice.

i’m involved in my school as well. i am the sports director for my high school’s radio station, which a staff position in the club. i was program director for the radio station last year, which is basically the “student station manager”, but my true passion was sports broadcasting so i switched. i am also involved with the boy’s volleyball team. i have an after school job as well at my local grocery store as a produce clerk.

my major will be social studies teaching in the fall. i took and passed World Civilization Honors, US History Honors, and AP Microeconomics. the only class i’ve had trouble in social studies classes is psychology, which i do not plan on pursuing my licensure for. i’ve never been good at math, the highest grade i got in a math class was Algebra 2 and i only got a C. every other class i’ve done pretty well in. i have no idea why i’m doing so bad this year. i have no missing assignments, no disciplinary issues, nothing out of the ordinary. i’ve only failed three classes, two were my freshman year (Algebra I and Spanish II) and precalc algebra last semester.

what are my chances of getting rescinded? is dropping AP Psychology a good idea because of my performance in the class? what can i do to finish the year strong?

thank you!

Your chances of being rescinded are not solely defined by your grades. Your involvement in extracurriculars and passion for sports broadcasting showcase your dedication. Consider seeking support for your struggles in math and focus on finishing the year with determination. You're capable of overcoming challenges. Keep pushing forward!
