Admissions Advice

On level/CP courses
Answered

Hey!

Can I still get into top schools with an On level/CP course on my transcript? I will be a sophomore soon (class of 2027). Based on my 4 year plan, my only on-level/CP classes will be electives (art, principles of business, peer leadership, business management or law, P.E, and Financial Literacy) and two academics (freshman English - 100, and sophomore chemistry.) I'm not too worried about the electives, I'm worried about chemistry and english. Do I still have a shot at top college admissions with 2 on-level/CP core classes?

My Stats:

- 3.9/4.0 UW GPA

- 11 AP classes predicted (1 freshman year, 1 sophomore year, 3 junior year, and 5/6 senior year)

- Large public high school in Texas

- Major: somewhere in the business line

- Top Schools: BU, Tulane, USC, NYU, WashU, UPenn, Georgetown, and UT Austin

- A good amount of current and future planned ECs

Thanks!!

Having CP classes is fine. Several ivies have shown interest in me and I have a few CPs on my record. As long as you are showing interest and dedication to ur classes ur fine. And if you wanna really drill into the fact that you didn't want to have those classes and aimed for more rigorous ones, just say that xyz class didn't fit into ur schedule. Also aim for high standardized test scores (ACT/SAT) [do the act its way easier to get high scores]
