Retaking a class

Hii, so unfortunately I ended up failing a semester of algebra 2 advanced. I had mentioned this to my counselor for advice and i'm still kind of lost. In my schedule for next year, I put AP PRE CALC, however, my counselor had mentioned that I have to retake that semester for alg 2 next year or I can do it online, hence I chose to finish it during summer school. My counselor mentioned in an email that he had dropped AP pre calc from my schedule. If I finish the semester course and passed it, will I still get AP PRE CALC next year? and also, will my grade in the summer school course change my current failing grade on the transcript? Please explain how the retaking classes online system works.
