1450 SAT
Answered

Should I retake SAT with a 1450 if I am applying to highly competitive schools? I got a 760 on Math and 690 on English. Not sure I I will do better.

@space waves, I see your score is quite high, if you want to do it again you should consider because it takes a lot of time and the results are not as expected.

I would try it just in case! Even if you don't think you'll do any better, there's always a chance that you'll get a slightly higher score on one of the sections, which will allow you to superscore your results. Especially if you're looking at highly competitive schools - while some focus on ECs and character more than scores, those that focus on academics more will prefer you have the highest score you could possibly get. You've got this!

If you have the time and resources to retake it I would say to go for it. However, that is already a good score so I wouldn’t worry too much about it. I also wouldn’t worry about getting a lower one because I think they only keep the highest score.

A 1450 is a strong SAT score, especially with a 760 in Math, which is an excellent result. For highly competitive schools, the middle 50% range is often around 1460-1600, so while your score is just below the top range, it's still within a very competitive bracket.

If you're confident that you might be able to improve your English score with more preparation, retaking the SAT could be worth considering. However, if you're unsure whether you'd do significantly better or if you’re feeling prepared in other areas of your application (like essays, extracurriculars, and recommendations), your 1450 may already be sufficient.

Ultimately, the decision comes down to your comfort level and whether you think further preparation will help you improve your score enough to make a difference f

It depends on how competitive the schools are. Most Ivy League schools want to see a 1490-1600 SAT, but depending on your application you could make up for the lower SAT. Also if you don't think you will do better I would recommend proving yourself with extraccurriculars and academic achievements as one test doesn't really prove who you are as a whole.

Hey there...do you have any tips on the digital SAT math?? You did extremely well! I am a 730 ERW and 660 Math. Would love to hear any study suggestions/resources you used for math! I could suggest the ERW sources I used for practicing, if you want
