Can I get into Florida State University with a low gpa but High SAT score?

Im curious if someone could get into Florida State University with a lower GPA but High SAT score? I hear that they are test heavy so I wonder if this has influence. I have a lower gpa that is 3.1 unweighted/4.0 something weighted . But I'm an AICE Diploma recipient. I'll had have taken 15 AICE classes, 1 AP, and 7 Pre-AICE (honors) courses throughout my high school career which i feel is a very rigorous course load. I also took the hardest math and english classes my school offers. My school also only offers AICE so that's why i only took 1 AP (online). I want to major in Political Science which isn't the most popular major from looking at their admissions from the past 2 years. I have strong extracurriculars and a lot of awards as well. But I am scared my GPA would eliminate me completely. Would getting a high SAT score potentially make a big difference?

Hello @ctrlthesky,

I believe that you should be able to get into the university. Having many extra curriculars, AICE/honors classes, awards, and high SAT scores should help balance out a lower GPA. The average GPA for students accepted there is 3.7, but I doubt that most of them would have done as much as you. If you have a admission interview, try to convince the admission officer, indirectly or directly, that you can earn better grades in college. Don't stress, relax, and you'll be fine. Have a nice day.
