Admissions Advice

Why would a top tier college rush to take a screenshot to make an admissions decision?

Hi all. This story won't make any sense, but I'll give it a shot! So I applied to a college that was marked for me as a hard target school on my list. I was under review and days later, they reached out to say they wanted spring grades, apparently this college has a reputation of doing this to students they really want. Anyway, I made thr grades and made dean's list again while I was at it. But I can't afford to send my official transcript right now due to personal issues. I reached out and asked if I could send in a screenshot after attaching it to the email I sent. I got a response back saying maybe, but admissions would have to get approval. I sent them pics of my published works, managed to do that while making my grades, and let it be known that my colleges threshold for the dean's list is a 3.2 and I managed a 3.68. My gpa from fall of last year was a 3.69 on 13 credits, this semester 15 credits and a 3.68 gpa. Well after one and a half days they said yes to using it for admission. Can anyone give me any insight into why they gave in? I totally went around their process to get this done! I was expecting a refusal to be honest.
