Is a passion project that is a minimum viable product good for college apps
so im thinking of making a website (i dont want to say what exactly) as a passion project and i dont know if i can make it in less than six months and i’ll be a high school junior this coming year. is it okay if i try to make a basic website with some of the features and launch it and then keep working on it

Yes, starting with a small working version sounds sensible. Pick one useful task the website should handle, finish that, and ask a few people to try it before adding features. Keep notes on what broke, what feedback you got, and what you changed.
When you describe it in an application, separate what you’ve built from what you still plan to build. A clear account of a small project is easier to understand than a big list of promised features. You don’t need to make it sound finished if it isn’t.
