Just submitted by application to 8 colleges a week ago, most of them have downloaded my application. However, I feel doubtful that they will accept me because I'm an international student who needs an F-1 Visa. However, most of them have 90% and above acceptance rates. What do you guys think?
First off, congratulations on submitting your college applications—that’s a major accomplishment and something to be proud of. It’s completely natural to feel uncertain afterward, especially when you're applying as an international student who requires an F-1 visa. That said, the fact that most of the schools you applied to have acceptance rates above 90% is a strong indicator that they’re open and inclusive in their admissions process. Many U.S. colleges actively seek international students to enrich their campus diversity and global perspective, and they often have dedicated resources to help with visa support. The fact that your applications have already been downloaded suggests that they’re being reviewed, which is a positive sign. While needing a visa can add a layer of complexity, it doesn’t necessarily reduce your chances—especially if your academic profile, personal statement, and supporting documents are strong. Right now, the best thing you can do is stay proactive: make sure your financial documentation is in order, keep an eye on your email for any follow-ups, and consider reaching out to admissions offices to express your enthusiasm and ask if they need anything further. You’ve done the hard part—now it’s about staying confident and prepared for the next steps.
