I'm planning on taking the SAT again because I got a 1160, I've been seeing SAT tutors (prior to my first SAT, but I'm still seeing them) and I have SAT study books but I'm worried that my score either won't go up or that it'll barely go up. Is taking the SAT 3 times bad or is it fine? And does anyone have tips to improve my score? Thanks!
Hello!
I took the SAT twice myself, and I can definitely say that colleges won't care if you've taken it 3 times! As long as you show improvement, they're fine. Some, you don't even need to send all of your scores into!
For tips on studying, try Khan Academy and the Bluebook Practice Tests. Khan Academy has extensive free courses for SAT Math + Reading & Writing, and the Bluebook Practice Tests are a great way to test where you're at and what to improve on!
Oh! Also... Don't stress yourself out over it. Study for maybe an hour a day, and focus on your weaknesses. No point rattling yourself up about it, right? Good luck! :)
I scored a 1500+ on my second try, for the validity of my advice.
Khan Academy courses for review of necessary content first. Then, try to do Bluebook practice tests literally as much as possible; I'm fairly sure that's what contributed most to my success.
Also, 3 times is not excessive. 5 or more is a bit iffy to colleges if you haven't improved, but 3 is completely fine. Make sure you make your strongest effort this time, but don't stress. I scored what I did doing just over an hour of practice daily.
Hi, my name is Rosie I'm here to inform you that it's not a bad idea to do the SAT 3 times you're smart and I'm proud of you for trying your best. One thing that I will tell you is that don't study hard keep studying smart and if you need help please inform your teachers about it.
