does the amount of ap classes you take matter?

im wondering since at the moment i've taken 2 ap's, does college care about the amount you take?

What colleges care most about is how you have used the resources available to you. You often hear that taking 4 out of the 4 APs at your school is equivalent to taking 10+ out of the 20 available. If your school has more APs, take them. Otherwise, seek out other opportunities to showcase intellectual curiosity and the ability to handle rigor.

How would this relate to dual-enrollment courses? My school has no AP but gives us the opportunity to take unlimited classes at community college.

Since that's all you have available to you, you should definitely take dual enrollment classes. You can even self-study for APs (just to give colleges a baseline/score)
