Grades: I have an unweighted GPA of 3.5 and weighted as 4.4 (on a scale of 6 I think, but it should change over the year, likely gonna go up but Idk)
I've failed principles of biomedical science (elective class) and I failed AP Physics (two six-weeks period) but had an overall average of like 85 in the class, Algebra 2 Adv I've been getting C's in that class, god its frying me.
Classes/APs: I've taken 8 APs so far and plan to take a few more next year as a senior, but I don't like my AP exam scores so I won't be submitting them most likely.
ECs:
- Interned at a non profit for mental health
- Taekwondo for 2 1/2 years
- Starting a non-profit where me and my friends do art and beauty related things (our hobbies) for money and that money goes to donating to medical causes and hospitals.
- Hospital volunteering
- HOSA state level competitor for public health
- Starting a club where we teach students and basic life skills, first aid, hands-on-activities, roleplays, workshops its basically like an add on to medical classes already on campus.
- Worked at kumon for about 4-5 months, I helped grade homework and occasionally helped out students with their work
- Currently doing research in psychology
- working on certification for nursing assistant
- Working on CPR and first aid certification
SAT - currently getting scores within 1300s but I'm still working on it
Other - Essay and rec letters not included (yet)
It's not that if I were a singular person my stats aren't even bad so it wouldn't be affecting me negatively, its the competition and other students I'm much more worried about, so I'm worried I'm gonna be very negative light.
To keep this community safe and supportive:
I do not think your GPA will negatively impact your applications. You do have a well-above-average GPA, even though you did fail two classes. Overall, I personally do not think it would, since you started a club, in HOSA, good service hours, work experience, and plan on getting certificates completed.
