Is this good to put in the additional information section on the common app

During my freshman year, I struggled a lot because of my vision problems that made it difficult to see and focus in class. At the time, I didn’t realize how much it was affecting my performance at school and didn’t tell my parents until later. Once I got my glasses, I’ve had a much easier time learning and maintained a much stronger academic performance ever since.

I had mostly Bs and Cs freshmen year but the rest of high school it was mainly A's and some B's

This is perfect for the additional information section. (not including the last, separated sentence)

You did good to not make excuses, just acknowledged a factor in your performance. thumbs up!
