ACT composite 23

I got a composite score 23 and my English is a 30. You think that's good enough for a college English program?

Hi @Potmeetkettle - I would really look at two things:

1st) are you applying directly to the english program or department? Or to the college as a whole. If it's not a college where you're intended major is a part of your application, or you aren't applying to the honors college for that program, the answer is probably no

2nd) email the school. I emailed MIT about if a 680 for writing would make my SAT score look bad, and they said they didn't even look at the writing score, just your math out of 800. However, Harvard does a more holistic score review, so it varies. Email a counselor, and they'll know the specifics.

Overall, I would say to try and take it again, because unless they only look at your 30 (good job on that btw) it's not a fantastic score.

Tip: if you struggled in math, try adding science: it's usually easier and balances out your composite.
