Hi all,
I took a School Day SAT this October and my score came back today. It is lower than my last SAT score (1420 to 1370)
My School Day SAT proctor told us to send the scores to the institution we planned on applying to before taking the test. I sent it to three institutions—one being a school which I am applying early decision, the other two I have already applied early action. I didn’t realize the repercussions of this until I started reading blogs by that time, it was too late to unsend the score. In my CommonApp, I self-reported my previous SAT score, but have not sent them the official score report for it.
Now my early action colleges have my 1370 officially and my 1420 score self-reported. And my Early decision college has only been sent my 1370, but I haven’t applied yet.
My question is: are the colleges going to compare the “official” score report they now have to my self-reported score? Are they going to see they don’t line up? Will this affect me in the admission process? I don’t plan on taking the SAT again. Should I send my better score “offically” to them now despite the fact my application is still under review? Will my application be affected because my more recent score is worse?
If it isn’t obvious— I’m super stressed. I didn’t want to apply test optional to my early decision school, but if that college having both scores will affect my admission (my best score in the median, my new is FAR off)… I kind of don’t have a choice.
Any help and knowledge is appreciated!!!
Most colleges super score if I'm not mistaken so they should consider the 1420 instead of the 1370. However, you should check the school website or reach out to the admissions counselor if you have any school specific questions.
