Hey, so I have a GPA of 2.9, almost 3.0. I'm applying to SJU Early action, without my SATs, just my resume, 2 letter of recommendations, and a strong essay. Their nursing program states they need >90% for a HS GPA, so I was worried. I have a strong resume, being founder of pre med club and secretary of STUCO, plus member of red cross club and more. I volunteered at a hospital for 2 months, 2 months at a clinic, and NHS for a day. What do you guys think?
I’d say you have a chance, just not a strong one. Your GPA is lower than what they usually look for, but your volunteering and leadership help. In the end it’ll really come down to how strong your essay and recommendations are. Definitely apply, just make sure you have a few backup options too.
