Do you think getting a 30 on my ACT could improve my chances of getting into UIUC
Im a junior who currently has a 3.7 weighted GPA and 3.4 unweighted

A higher ACT always improves the chances of getting into a school. You have a good shot for in-state, but OOS, you are a bit below what UIUC is looking for. Their average ACT is around a 32 or 33, and UIUC looks for an UW GPA closer to 3.7 and a weighted GPA closer to 4.0. You can easily offset below average stats with above average extracurriculars, but if you're relying on your stats to get you into a school, I wouldn't say you have a great shot (especially if you're aiming for STEM).
