What advice would you give me for the upcoming 2026-2027 admissions cycle?

Hi, I'm planning on applying as a public health/health science major.

I was at a magnet school for biomedical sciences & allied health as an underclassmen but this took a toll on my GPA as I personally took low dips in STEM classes, especially as a freshman. (My current GPA is a 3.4 and SAT in high 1300s, waiting on my second attempt.)

I have relocated and go to a large public high school in a competitive area offering lots of APs, but due to scheduling & credit recovery (magnet didn't have fine arts, etc) I am only taking two & self studying one, with little STEM rigor in my junior year schedule. (made this choice because challenging math course grades were significantly low) I plan to take 3 included Calc BC next year. My EC's are cohesive-ish with local leadership and a clear developing interest in communicating & solving community health issues.

What advice would you give me for the upcoming 2026-2027 admissions cycle? Where do you think I may have a shot?

You still have solid chances. Focus on upward grade trends, strong senior rigor, and impactful health-related activities. Craft a clear story about growth, resilience, and your commitment to public health.
