I'm currently a sophomore who's part of an FRC and forensics team, but that's all I've done that's notable since the NHS here is a joke. I am also a geek, so I'm into theater, D&D, and band, but I don't know how to make myself stand out. I'm still working on putting myself out there to be a leader, but it's hard when you're new to so many of these things. The only thing I have long-term experience in is band, but even then, I haven't really stood out. I'm planning to apply to big schools and some safety schools, but if I could get into a top-20 school, I wouldn't know what to say, being from a small town. Keep in mind, I'm estimating a 3.9-ish GPA and a 33-35 on my ACTs right now, and I'm taking AP classes. If you dont know what my school offers in terms of activities, I can reply with a list, but they're the average activities you'd see at schools.
Honestly, it might be better to find something in relation to what you want to do in college. If you make your own initiative, it'll make you look even better since your school doesn't have that much stuff. If you're set on trying to make your current ECs look better, then see if you can join some competitions or connect it to your community. if there's nothing you can do, then just focus on making your essays the best they can be. You really just just have to have a spike in your activities in junior year.
