I have a speech impediment, but it’s in Arabic. I was born in the Middle East and moved to America when I was 6. When in the Middle East , I struggled with the letter pronunciation, but it improved and I was left struggling with one letter. This one letter has practical defined me. I speak Arabic fully fluently but anytime I speak everyone just sees me for my impediment. It’s especially hard when I go back to my home country every summer. Even though I’m ethnicity Arab, I feel so linguistically out of place. I’ve never learnt the letter. I was thinking to talk about model un and mock trial. These are both public speaking clubs that I founded at my school, they’ve really helped me find my voice and defend myself when people make fun of me for how I speak. But I’ve heard that is a common topic. Any tips or advice ??
