Does packages carry COVID?
Answered

I recently received an admitted letter from a college, and I wonder that is there any possibility to get infected?

I think it’s sad that this is now a “reasonable” question for the admissions process this year 😭😭

Just spray the package a bit with isopropyl alcohol or something. Wait a bit then open it. It won't hurt and won't damage the letter to much as long as you know, you don't drench it in the alcohol.

If you already opened it, there is a small chance it could have COVID particulates if like the mailman or whoever accidentally sneezes on it or whatever but it's probably so small of a chance, especially with mask wearing, that you don't need to worry in my opinion. The delivery company might even have some procedure in place to clean packages.

You do have a small chance of getting infected. However, the possibility is zero to none as long as you disinfect the surface and wash your hand after. Also, it’s difficult for virus to survive without a host, which means that the virus would have been dead when you received the package. Hope that helps.
