Does checking the box that says the feedback is intentionally unhelpful for the essay review do anything?
Answered

I hate seeing my points wasted and my time wasted as I finish waiting for a essay review but only getting comments like "good transition" and "good word" in five different ways is annoying and frustrating so I hope that my rating of a one and marking of intentionally unhelpful actually does something. Once, I even got several copy and pasted feedback responses which didn't even relate to my topic.

Hi there, users who get flagged as intentionally unhelpful do get banned from the system - so please keep reporting! The notification system does work, and we try to review as many reports as possible and refund the karma to the essay author. Please understand that no online community can exist without trolls, and we are doing our best to weed them out. As @DebaterMax pointed out, please don't hesitate to email support@collegevine.com if you think your report fell through the cracks. In your case, @jyu1573, we've refunded karma to your account!

I think that checking the feedback unhelpful gives the person a bad rating only, and I think they lose Karma, but I'm not completely sure because I have had great ratings. I think if someone Is going to review an essay they need to take the time to actually do so, and to do it thoroughly. I agree with you because it is annoying when someone only says short responses, that don't help with the essay, and that you can benefit from.

Whoever reads this, Please take the time to review with patience, and to review thoroughly. If you can't do it correctly, then don't review it. People use the peer essay reviewer to get help to fix something with an essay or to help them with grammar, tense, tone, etc. So please don't make people waste Karma on a review that is done poorly.

So this has happened to me and in the url there should be a 5ish digit number. That number is the essay “code”. If you email support@Collegevine and say on essay #abcde I got an incredibly unhelpful review and was hoping you can look into.

Marking it as unhelpful theoretically alerts Collegevine but I’m unsure if they actually review the reports as I never gotten an auto notification (CV of you see this maybe consider adding it). But by emailing them you should get karma refunded with in a day or two. And if the reviewer does this repeat it they can and will be banned.

PS I think the alert is devolopment aka unfinished.

Hope this helps and feel free to comment if you’s like clarification as I’d be more than happy to help!

I used to act in such a pou way, and I did report it a few times, and it worked as well.
