Audience questions

These are questions from the audience that we had time to answer during the live session. If you have any other questions, you can request an answer from Moriah and other CollegeVine experts in an upcoming livestream or on the Q&A Forum anytime.
5:03@anonymous:If you aren’t very interested in social media specifically, is Communications not the best major for you?
8:37@anonymous:What made you decide to study communications?
11:07@anonymous:What high school extracurriculars point to an interest in Communications on college apps?
13:46@anonymous:What focus/major should you have in communications if you want to get into the business field?
18:28@scarlettchu:Do you think a communications major is more similar to a marketing business major or a psychology major?
21:04@anonymous:Would you say that television and broadcasting is something that requires communications? Would you say the television industry is communications, journalism, or both?
32:53@anonymous:Is experience more important that the actual degree. I feel like jobs love free labor and experience. Do they prefer experience over the concrete degree? For example, say we have someone who completed a rigorous degree from Harvard but has 0 to no experience. The other person went to a random college and only completed general communications. However, this person has worked for many different places for free, has gathered a lot of knowledge and experience. Who will get the job?
