3:35@Bawb:what skills/extracurriculars are good for an education or psych major to have?
6:02@anonymous:How do I start looking for colleges if I don't know what I want to major in or where I want to study?
8:31@anonymous:Hello, would a high GPA cover for low SAT/ACT scores?
10:08@anonymous:How did you figure out what major you wanted to study?
12:38@Nathaniel213:My dad wanted me to get my high school education in Jamaica. But the problem is you, cant intern, anywhere here until I'm 18. And due to covid, there aren't many community service activities that I can go to. If I'm applying to a school will my extracurriculars be enough?
14:49@anonymous:Could you elaborate on your gap year and define what makes a good gap year?
19:48@anonymous:What kind of extracurriculars should you participate in if sports are not your cup of tea?
20:41@Nathaniel213:I did Spanish for three years in school but I only barely scraped by so I still can't speak the language. Can I still put it on my application to make it look better
21:26@anonymous:How do I explain to schools why certain subject areas are a weakness and how I plan to do better?
26:04@anonymous:If I don't have all A's, will colleges be less likely to accept me?
27:05@Nathaniel213:if my sophomore grades were kind of low but my junior grades are a lot higher would schools think that the increase is a good thing or would it have no bearing on my application.
27:37@anonymous:Do people need to take AP tests to get into top schools?
29:23@anonymous:but if you do poorly in your AP tests, will that have any negative impact on your application or you can choose to not to submit?
30:41@anonymous:My middle school was very advanced so I was always taking math classes that were above my level but still made it with C's, B's, and occasionally A's. Once I got to high school, AP math classes were really my only option. I'm still getting by with the same grade range and I'm afraid that it might not show that I am a good fit for schools.
34:14@Nathaniel213:I'm not sure you can answer this question but In jamaica, they have these exams call CXC and they're supposed to allow a student to get into the sixth form. I did one of those tests which are advanced for my grade level will they look good on my report or because it's a foreign exam school wouldn't accept it?
35:20@Autumn1:Do SAT scores or GPA matter more? Thanks.
35:58@Jimbo:As a junior, what should we be working on right now in the college admissions timeline? When should we look for colleges?
38:46@Anki:If we have taken some courses out of our major like from coursera or edx we wanted to pursue and gain lot of knowledge or experience but due to high fees of certificate I haven't purchase so how I demonstrate this in my application and where?
41:04@Jimbo:How do we look for colleges? What are things to look for?
44:11@Nathaniel213:who are the best people to get letters of recommendations from?
48:24@Jimbo:Are there any sites/books we should look for looking for colleges?
51:02@anonymous:Im the first one in my family to go to college is there any tips you could give me about financial aid and scholarships?
53:10@anonymous:parents also need to write a review of their children, right?
53:38@Isabela:How to make your personal statement stand out?
58:36@Jimbo:Should we look at example essays or simply try it on our own?
59:48@anonymous:I'm a current junior and I am worried that I do not have enough extracurriculars or very solid ones. This is the weakest point of my application, but I am not sure how to improve it as it is very late in my high school career. Do you have any advice?
