Does gpa of international students get evaluated differently?
Answered

I am currently a student in grade 12th in a gifted high school in Vietnam, my GPA in Vietnam is 9.2/10 which is extremely good compared to my peers. However, when converted to US GPA mine is only 3.7/4.0 and I have seen many other students in the US have a 4.0/4.0 which could never happen in Vietnam.

Hello @lanadelgay

For international students, colleges usually look at factors affecting your GPA like course rigor and the number of courses you offer when determining your academic strength.

Even if your GPA is 3.7/4.0 when converted to US GPA, colleges would look at your application based on your context, so you may even be at a greater advantage if you do challenging courses in your school system and can score quite high in them.
