About

Hi! I became a college admissions consultant to help students like you navigate the current challenges and changes in college admissions. I know how busy you are and how stressful this process can be. I graduated as a double major in psychology and Spanish from Union College and earned my M.Ed. from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. My early career in education as a school psychologist provided me the opportunity to coordinate and counsel high school students in their college and transition plans. I have experience working with students with ADHD and anxiety and understand the impact that it has not only on the student but the entire family. I have been a substitute teacher, volunteered in the schools, managed the tennis teams, and taught religious school. My students enjoy working with me and benefit from my knowledge and experience as an Associate Member of IECA. I also have two sons who I have helped through the college-admissions process in the past few years. I can'...

My process

For my Big Fish package, I meet with students monthly early in the process as we get to know each other well. During that time, we talk a lot about fit from an academic, social and financial standpoint. Parents are involved in the process and are required to complete a questionnaire. All appointments are scheduled by the student and consultant to build independent skills. We begin school and career exploration, test prep options, extracurriculars, college tours, summer planning and resume building. We meet bimonthly at the end of junior year to brainstorm the personal statement, editing, interview prep, job search, etc. As we approach senior year, we meet as often as needed focusing on the supplemental essays and applications. My process continues through the second week in May of the senior year, after the college deposit is made. All appointments are scheduled within a student's flexible schedule and are done virtually or in person if preferred.

Tips for success
1. Prepare for your first session
Plan out the questions and topics you'd like to discuss. If you'd like to work together in the long term, discuss expectations for each other.
