About

Hello! My name is Katie Toole and I am a School Counselor currently located in New Jersey. I am also a sports nut. I played Division 1 college basketball at Sacred Heart University and spent the first part of my career as an Assistant Women's Basketball Coach and recruiting coordinator at Manhattanville College, Brown University, and Fordham University. A big part of my job was to recruit student athletes to each respective school to play basketball. I worked closely with the admissions office at each school to make sure the student athletes we wanted would be granted admission. I then transitioned to my current role as a high school counselor and have been helping students with the college application process for the last 11 years. As a high school counselor I have helped students attend a wide range of schools from community colleges, HBCU's, state schools, specialized art schools, and top academic schools. I have a B.S. in Business Administration from Sacred Heart University, ...

My process

My process starts with a conversation. I want to know your wants and needs when it comes to a college or university. I also want to know your likes and dislikes. There is a college fit for all students and by talking about our likes, dislikes, and interests we can find our best fit! After we talk, we can get a clear direction and list of schools to apply to. From there, we can organize our list and deadlines. We can then go through the application step by step. My goal is to make sure that that all stakeholders (students, parents, coaches, family) have a thorough understanding of the college process by the time we are done and to find YOUR best fit!

Tips for success
1. Prepare for your first session
Plan out the questions and topics you'd like to discuss. If you'd like to work together in the long term, discuss expectations for each other.
