Growing up, I had no doubt that I would go to college, but since my high school was too small to have any counselors, I was left to navigate the admissions process entirely on my own. I ended up picking a college based on its famous alumni (NOT something I would recommend!) and luckily graduated four years later from Denison University with a phenomenal liberal arts experience. After college, I joined AmeriCorps and spent two years of volunteer service with a non-profit college access organization providing the college advising I wish I had to high school students in Austin, TX. I became incredibly passionate about college advising and post-secondary planning and decided to get my masters degree in Student Affairs Administration at Ball State University.
